5.26.07: My GPS came in today from CompUSA! I tried it out on the drive from my house to my girlfriends (about 10 miles away). I was pretty pleased with the results. I have it wired to my headlights, so when the bike is turned on, so is the GPS. I was careful not to overload the wires going to the headlight (that would be pretty bad). The problem I have with it is that it froze up on me. I really don't know why, maybe the vibration from the bike. Tomorrow I want to mount it the right way on my bike. Right now, it is just suction cupped to the windsheild. I want to get secuirty bolts and bolt it to the frame so you need the special allen key to remove it. The GPS mount itself is almost tamperproof. Although I will be taking it off when I am way from the bike, I just want it to be secure incase I do go away for a few minutes. It is not waterproof either, but for the price I'll still take it. The ones made of motorcycles cost in upwards of $575, and this was only $150, plus I have 5 gigs of room to store music, video, and pictures.

5.24.07: Okay, so I have this crazy idea to plan a trip cross country from Wilkes-Barre, PA to San Francisco, CA making my through 16 (maybe 17 states). Right now I am in the planning stage: asking advice, planning routes, and gathering gear that I might need, oh and trying to get the time off work! I am planning this instead of just going off on a whim because I like the security of knowing I have a place to stay every night.
The preliminary route as of today. My problem is that I would like to visit LA and Yosemite (marker 6) but if I choose both, it will really be out of my way and add an extra 2 days on my travel time.
